Editor review
Amber Glow is a path-tracing arcade where you draw lines through floating glow-orbs to collect them. Thirty levels across two environment themes. The format combines line-drawing with collect-the-thing arcade goals.
What works is the path validation. The line you draw is checked against orb positions in real-time; valid paths highlight as you draw, invalid paths grey out. The visual feedback teaches the format without explicit tutorials.
Thirty levels with obstacle orbs that must be avoided. Late levels have more obstacles than collectibles, forcing tight path planning before commit.
Tested over three Osaka Library lunch breaks. Touch swipe is the natural input. Mouse-drag also works.
Where the game starts to thin is the absence of any progression beyond level completion. No cosmetic unlocks, no leaderboards beyond local times. Most players will exhaust the thirty levels in two or three sessions.
Where I would push back is the campaign length. Thirty levels is short for the format. Sixty or eighty levels would have justified the visual investment more fully.
Three stars. Functional path-tracing collection arcade with thoughtful visual feedback. Limited by short campaign length.
